What is Vaginal Tightening?

Vaginal tightening is one of numerous vaginal corrective operations that fall under the umbrella of "vaginal rejuvenation." Your vagina and the tissues around it may become less elastic and strong due to factors including childbearing, age, and heredity. Numerous problems result from this, including incontinence (leaking pee), vaginal dryness, drooping skin, and diminished sexual pleasure. In order to treat these issues and restore the appearance and functionality of their vagina, many women turn to vaginal rejuvenation. Options for vaginal rejuvenation include surgical and nonsurgical procedures.

Purposes of Vaginal Tightening

People undergo vaginal tightening to address symptoms including vaginal looseness, lack of lubrication, and loss of sexual intimacy that are frequently brought on by having children or menopause. In addition to reducing these symptoms, vaginal tightening can address the following:

  • Vaginal skin that is too loose
  • Urinating while laughing or sneezing
  • Being incapable of holding your urine
  • Reduced libido
  • Dryness
  • Unpleasant sexual intercourse
  • Lack of confidence

Procedure of Surgical Vaginal Tightening

The majority of surgical vaginal rejuvenation and tightening procedures include anesthesia or sedation. These operations are carried out by a plastic or gynecologic surgeon. Typical surgical techniques for vaginal tightening is what is referred to as vaginoplasty.

Before Vaginal Tightening

You go through evaluations and testing in order to get ready for surgery. These procedures might consist of the following:

  • Exam to evaluate your health and find out more about your medical background
  • Patient education of dangers, advantages, and postoperative care needs
  • Recommendations, such as giving up smoking, to reduce your chance of problems

During Vaginal Tightening

When vaginoplasty is performed to treat wounds from delivery, the following steps are taken:

  • Removal of excess skin
  • Stitching the complete or partial depth of your vagina to fix loose tissue
  • Reducing the size of your vagina's entrance

Congenital abnormalities are issues that are present at birth, and may be corrected with vaginoplasty by:

  • Making sure that the vagina is functional
  • Getting rid of extra tissue or strange formations
  • Avoiding blood clots during the menstrual period

Recovery from Vaginal Tightening

Depending on the scope of the operation, the healing process might take a few weeks to a few months. Depending on the type of vaginoplasty performed, postoperative care may be required.

It can be suggested by your doctor that you use a dilator. In order to keep your vagina's depth and caliber, this gadget softly extends the inside of your uterus. After a vaginoplasty, you might or might not need to use a dilator.

Non-surgical Vaginal Tightening

Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation techniques are noninvasive and require little recovery time. They support vaginal tightening and toning without the need for incisions or surgery. The top layers of vaginal tissue are heated as part of nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation. The underlying tissue responds by producing more collagen and fresh, tougher tissue.

Non-surgical procedures comprise the following:

  • Treatment with a CO2 laser: By heating the tissue in your vagina's upper layers, the laser encourages the lower layers of tissue to produce more collagen. The skin becomes tighter and firmer as a result.
  • RF (radio frequency) therapy: RF treatment employs electromagnetic waves that are somewhat comparable to (but weaker than) the waves used in a microwave. The vaginal tissue is heated by RF waves, which promotes collagen formation and blood flow.

In an office environment, RF and laser treatments are administered. Local anesthetic is used very little, if at all, throughout the surgery. The majority of the time, you don't require any recuperation time and can get on with your day.

Benefits of Vaginal Tightening

Vaginal rejuvenation and vaginal tightening have many benefits, which include the following:

  • Assistance with incontinence (urinary leakage)
  • Improve uncomfortable sex
  • Increase the feelings and sensitivity of the vagina
  • Increase the moisture and lubrication
  • Make your pelvic and vaginal muscles stronger
  • Make your vulvar region (labia, clitoris, or vaginal entrance) seem better
  • Tighten up the muscles in your vagina
  • Increase self-esteem and confidence in how your vagina looks
