Dr.Mohamad Azzam Ziade is a leading Consultant in Medical Oncology at Medcare Hospital Sharjah. He completed his MBBS from the University of Ancona, Italy and his National Diploma in Medical Oncology from the University of Padova, Italy. He holds a Master's in Bone Marrow Transplantation from the School of Clinical Haematology, UK with a certification from the European Bone Marrow Transplantation Society. He is Board Certified in Medical Oncology in Switzerland, a Master's in Bone Marrow Transplant from the International Center for Transplantation in Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anaemia of the Mediterranean Institute of Haematology, Rome, Italy and has completed his ESMO Examination from Paris in France and the European Haematology Exam from Frankfurt in Germany. He also has a Fellowship from the Hospital of Legnago/ Verona (Department of Clinical Haematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant). Dr. Ziade has spent more than two decades working at prestigious hospitals and doing invaluable research in countries across the globe. During the initial years of his career, he was an intern in Internal Medicine at the Makassed Hospital, in Beirut, Lebanon. He worked in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology directed by Prof. Luigi Chiecco Bianchi on the frequency of a mutated CCR-5 allele (delta 32) among Italian blood donors and individuals at risk of parenteral HIV Infection. Moving to Italy, he worked at the Department of Oncology at the Hospital of Piove di Sacco and later worked at the Rafik Hariri University Hospital and General Military Hospital as Consultant in Oncology-Haematology. He was an Honorary Clinical Observer at King's College Hospital, London too. In the UAE, he worked as a Consultant Oncologist and Haematologist at Al Zahra Hospital, Al Garhoud Hospital, HMS Mirdif Hospital, Burjeel Hospital and the Royal NMC Hospital.
Dr. Ziade’s impressive credentials are supported by his expertise that spans various haematological disorders, including benign and malignant conditions, haemophilia, haemoglobinopathy, haemostatic disorders, and solid tumours, notably breast, ovarian, colon, and lung cancers. His proficiency is in thalassemia and sickle cell anaemia, bone marrow transplantation with extensive knowledge relative to haematological diseases. He specialises in malignant haematological diseases mainly lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and acute and chronic leukaemia with both conventional (chemotherapy and immunotherapy) and intensive treatment as bone marrow transplantation. He has extensive experience in the conventional treatment in the field of solid tumours with supported clinical research. He is in continuous collaboration in clinical research with IELSG (International Extra-Nodal Lymphoma Study Group) led by Prof. Emanuele Zucca.
Dr. Ziade is a research-oriented oncologist and has written several articles related to breast cancer, colorectal cancer and lung cancer. These have been published in peer-reviewed journals. He has also contributed to congressional abstracts. He is fluent in Arabic, English, French and Italian and is proficient in providing comprehensive care across linguistic and cultural barriers.
