Dr Tahira Ramzan Mehboob Hussain Ghanchi is a Specialist in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Medcare Medcare Hospital Sharjah & Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital . She completed her MBBS and MSc from Pakistan's most prestigious medical institute, the Jinnah Medical University. Subsequently, she specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MCPS) and completed her training at the Dow University of Health Sciences Civil Hospital Karachi, Pakistan. Additionally, she has several qualifications including a Professional Diploma in Ultrasound, a fellowship in IVF from Keil University in Germany and a Professional Diploma in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy from the University Hospital Sharjah. She is also a member of the Society of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Pakistan, and the European Society of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) from Ireland, a Fellow of the College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (EFOG-EBCOG) from Europe, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FACOG), USA and Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MRCOG) from the UK.
Dr Ghanchi spent the initial stage of her career, working in Pakistan as a Senior Resident, first at the Dow University of Health Sciences and then at the Civil Hospital Karachi. She also worked as a Registrar at the Agha Khan Hospital in Karachi. Moving to the Sultanate of Oman, she worked as a Specialist with the Ministry of Health’s Nizwa Hospital. She then relocated to the United Arab Emirates, where she is known for her expertise and compassionate patient care. She has spent more than a decade working in the Gulf region as a Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Shaikh Khalifa Hospital in Umm Al Quwain, the Thumbay Hospital in Ajman and the Zulekha Hospital in Sharjah. She has also served as a course instructor at the University Hospital Sharjah and a teaching faculty at the University of Medicine and Science, also in Sharjah. She has consistently demonstrated exceptional skills, dedication and professionalism.
Dr. Ghanchi adeptly manages a wide spectrum of gynaecological and obstetric conditions that range from routine examinations to complex surgeries including diagnostic D & C, Pipelle biopsy, Colposcopy, lower segment Caesarean section, laparotomies for ectopic pregnancies, ovarian cystectomies, abdominal hysterectomies and assisting Laparoscopic surgeries and hysteroscopic procedures. She has a special interest in managing women with abnormal uterine bleeding, polycystic ovarian diseases, uterus fibroids, fertility problems, menopausal women’s issues, contraception advice and pre-cancer gynaecological conditions. She has successfully managed high-risk pregnancies with conditions like placenta previa, twin gestation, molar pregnancies and early pregnancy complications. She efficiently manages pre-term labour & deliveries, hysterectomies, cervical Incompetencies, ectopic pregnancies, Caesarean scar and pelvic floor repair. She is an expert in applying Rescue Cerclage in cases where the women are more than 16 weeks into gestation up to 25 weeks.
Dr. Ghanchi believes in providing compassionate and dedicated patient-centred care to pregnant mothers and non-pregnant women. She speaks a variety of languages including
